There's this common refrain heard in the theme park industry, that before you build another park at a resort, you have to make your existing parks more solid.
I feel like this should be applied more in the tech industry. Before you make a new product, make sure your existing products are excellent. Apple could be fixing everything that's already broken before they venture into a new space. If they don't, they risk spreading themselves too thin like when they made printers.

i have a take that there are only a few basic financial instruments that actually exist, and everything else is just repackaged basic ones with fancy names and hype:
insurance? gambling, actually. options? gambling. futures? gambling. exotic options? im sorry you’re still doing gambling, just worse. margin trading? loans. cryptocurrency? money. DAOs? stocks. bonds? loans. collateralized debt obligations? you’re just putting a bunch of loans together into one to do an insurance against them, and insurance is just gambling by a nicer name

The NAACP took their case to the U.S. Supreme Court. Barbara and her classmates became plaintiffs in Brown v. Board of Education, the landmark case that ended segregation in America. Their case was combined with cases from other states.

I really never thought non-compete clauses where ethical. It is anti competitive for the employee. I am happy to see it tossed out but I also know this 100% will be challenged in courts and will take some time to understand the impact.

The first custom made dragon pendant I've made, and the most complex one to date. The commissioner is Aciel!
The technique I use is sculpting and shaping pieces of silver (925) and soldering it all together. With a great deal of polishing! There were about 15 parts in this pendant. Length is 58mm, head to tail tip.
Some dragon designs aren't completely possible for me to make. Unless I use casting methods. Which I didn't here.
I'm glad I could almost sculpt Aciel here just the same as on his reference sheet. The horns and the plating were quite the challenge :p

One use of AI assistant tools is as a souped-up search engine: you ask a question in natural language, and you hope that it will understand its data well enough to pick out the page that really answers your question, instead of pages that just mention some of the keywords. And you usually hope in vain.
