Crimp that thang!
This is probably not news to anyone who follows my account, but I really want to shout it from the rooftop:
When there are fascists around, *more polarization is better than less polarization*. Meeting fascists halfway means you’ve just moved much closer to fascism. It is and will always be a losing strategy. Calls for “unity” that don’t explicitly demand that reactionary, authoritarian turds join the rest of humanity (a demand they will almost invariably reject, whether or not they say so) is a call for appeasement. Don’t fall for it.
That is all.
I love fedi because there are so many of a very specific few types of guy and I enjoy interacting with all of them
In particular, you’ve got:

Guys are hot.
Non-binary people are hot.
Everyone is so fucking hot.

'Great news': Ecuador #river is granted the right to not be polluted
In an unusual ruling, a court in #Ecuador ruled on Sunday that #pollution has violated the rights of a river that runs through the capital, #Quito.
The city government appealed the ruling, which is based on an article of Ecuador’s Constitution that recognises the rights of natural features like the #MachángaraRiver.
Activists who filed the complaint said Sunday the decision is “historic”.

Eh, I spend years not-quite-finishing the scripts I'm writing by being slow and careful and deliberate. Sometimes it would be nice to actually complete a project.
Interviewing Employer: Where do you see yourself in five years?
Me: In a hermit's hovel in the woods near the mountains, as far away from humanity as I can possibly get. Birdsong will be my alarm, and the chirping of crickets will be my bedtime lullaby. While completely nude I will bathe in crisp spring lakes and hunt with the wolves, dance with the fireflies and run free with the wind at my back.

(I hope this brought you a smile! If you're looking for a job currently, good luck!! I'm cheering for you!!)
sounds a bit like my job as night manager of the lower realms of the cooler side of hell:
A cave at the side of a very active volcano, the sweet sound of crows and ravens, bathing in acidic hot water from deep underground. Playing with all the fluffy bats and running with all the fiery (literally) wolves.
It’s so romantic down here 🖤🥰😈

Well, he did two cats: CAT 5E and CAT 6.
Just this afternoon I was sitting in a comms room terminating Cat5E and Cat6 cables with my new pass-thru crimper, purchased after your blog (I have the same Klein Tools one, but no-brand plugs as the Klein ones are silly money). It's by far the best crimper I've used.
I've even got some shielded plugs for Cat6 F/UTP, cable that's about as thick as a tree and as bendy as a pipe. The plugs have the 8 conductors offset to allow thicker gauge wires, and the Klein handles them perfectly.
Very handy, bookmarked in case of future need.
But, what puzzles me is why anybody bothers to make up patch leads when you can buy them so cheaply and avoid so much hassle?
For any “infrastructure” wiring it's usually much better to use fixed (so IDC) connectors at the end so normally there's only the very occasional need to put a plug on - the only case I can think of is connecting to something like an IP cameras where you want to feed a wire through the smallest possible hole in a wall before adding the plug.
Edit: IDE→IDC
A key example is things like PoE CCTV cameras - you are running cable, outside, cable clipped (infrastructure) but direct to the cameras using a plug, and need it made to length not just a standard patch lead. Other end might be a patch panel socket with IDC. Same with PoE APs, though indoor can be done with a wall mounted socket more easily.
Also, I happen to have a back to back RJ45 socket patch panel strip, so most of my infrastructure has plugs to that, then patch lead to switches.
