Which makes me think: should anyone be killed for not making enough money? No? Then Universal Basic Income is a necessity. Or make food and water (and housing and clothing and so on) free to all, like the NHS (is supposed to be). Relying on charities isn't enough, they can't provide universal coverage the way government could.
