"Nine months after a court quashed my conviction, I’m living on universal credit. Why is it so hard for victims like me to get compensation?"

This man should want for nothing for the rest of his life IMO

With the state having unjustly confiscated 17 years of his life, something they are physically unable to return to him, he should at the very least never have to pay the state anything again, simply because they've already taken more than he could ever owe them. No tax, no rent for council accommodation, no paying back prison board and lodging (holy crap), nothing. And as you say, they also now owe him a bloody good life from this point on as an attempt at reparations.
