The start of this film is almost absurdly domestic.

It opens with our hero working on a construction site, finding random interesting knick-knacks as he does so. As the work day finishes he crosses town to the station and commutes home, where he puts his favourite film on in the background while he sorts through the bits and bobs he's picked up during the day. He's distracted by a romantic moment in the film and wishes he had some romance in his own life. A little later he's outside cleaning out his backpack when he notices the weather taking a turn for the worse and locks up hurriedly before the storm arrives. He feeds his pet before he turns in for the night.

Next morning he wakes up, stumbles groggily to his closet but struggles to even cope with his footwear. Later, after his morning pick-me-up we find him bright and energetic again and he heads back to work, where he spends a day building the base of a tower and picking up more interesting junk—ahem, artefacts—from the ground. And back home again after a day's work… if he wasn't such an adorable little goober it would be pretty dull. But it's one of my favourite parts of the film.
