!Friendica Support Is there an easy way to find the timestamp of a post? Friendica seems to only show a "friendly" amount of time ago, which isn't helpful when a post was a few weeks ago and I wanted to check what date I posted it on. I don't see any way to find out the actual date and time of a post other than (a) try to find it on a federated non-Friendica instance, or (b) dig into the database. Having, e.g., a tooltip with the precise timestamp when you hover over the "ago" time would be nice. (I'm still on Friendica 2024.03 because I'm so busy/lazy, so if this has changed since then, sorry to have wasted your time reading this.)

Hover your mouse over the date/ time display and there should be a tool-tip that shows the full timestamp.

@gme πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦πŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈπŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ I actually tried all the themes a few days ago to see if any of them had a tooltip like that, but none did. Maybe that's a recent feature? (If so, I ought to upgrade.)

I'm running 2024.12 over on burque.social and using the default frio theme.

You can hover over the date. This functionality is present in Frio from the start, I think.

@Michael πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦ Well that's odd, because I was positive I'd tried all the themes without success. But I've just tried Frio on my 2024.03 installation, and it does indeed give timestamps in tooltips as shown in your screenshot. I must have had some kind of braino when I thought I'd tested them all, oh well. I much prefer Vier, though, which instead says "link to source" in its tooltip. Now that I know where to look, maybe I can compare the two themes, see how Frio does it, and make a patch for Vier to do the same. At least I now know it's possible! Thanks!
