Hurrah! Just in time, I remembered it was Halloween night, got suited up, and got out to high five local trick-or-treaters. I got the usual selfies first to check I'd got my face on straight… 😁
I know, I know, the "after" ones are practically identical to the "before" ones. Taken in the same place, same lighting, same me... Oh well. Thank you for all the likes, it's rare for me to know at least 5 people have seen any of my posts (let alone 7, the first post has 7 whole likes!) 😀
If only, when in my suits, I had slightly better vision† and slightly better dexterity‡ I wouldn't even have to take them off most of the time. I'd like that.
† It's surprisingly not-bad, actually more in-focus than my naked-eye vision because of the pin-hole camera effect of all the little holes in the eye pieces, but the grid of tiny blind areas and double-vision spots overlaying everything is just a tad annoying.
‡ I can use keyboard, mouse and touchscreen without much problem at all, but the gloves make using any of them just a tad annoying.
I forgot to say, I got a reasonably good response last night. No negative reactions this time, although I think I went out a bit late in the evening (nearly 7pm) and I suspect some of the groups of trick-or-treaters had finished and gone home by then so there weren't all that many out. (I was only reminded that it was That Time by hearing children's voices in unusual numbers outside, then of course it took the time to suit up. I was a little worried I was going to miss everyone entirely!) My own road had several groups still out, but the nearby roads I walked were pretty much deserted for some reason - I think that was the case last year too, I wonder why. Anyway, yes, worth going out for about three high-fives and a few more "hi"s! 😀
