After seeing a bunch of theories about it and letting it sit in my mind, it's becoming more and more clear to me what The Amazing Digital Circus was ultimately about: how trans people can feel *so* ostracised they end up being driven to suicide. (Yeah, it's probably obvious to everyone else⦠I was never very good in English Literature classes.)

This is the song titled "Isn't She Lovely" from episode 9 of THE AMAZING DIGITAL CIRCUS, titled "Remember". This song is written by Stevie Wonder, performed ...

Now I've got Isn't She Lovely stuck in my head.
I can't help having a huge soft spot for Jax, despite how irredeemably awful a person she is. I suspect I see a lot of myself in her; I've been an awful person multiple times in the past β but hopefully not irredeemably so.
That tearful scene under the magenta street lamp.
"I didn't know you could play the piano."
"I only know like two songs. Why are you here? You know everything now⦠So why are you here? Just to rub every mistake I've ever made in my face? I'm a terrible person. Is that what you want me to say? I already know I am. So why does anybody still care about me? You're not supposed to care. You're not supposed to miss me. You're not supposed to love me. This isn't how this is supposed to go. Please! Leave me alone! You're making this so much harder. You're making this⦠so much harder."
"You should've just talked to me, man."
"It's too late. I did this to myself. There's no coming back from this."
"Well then, talk to me now."
They embrace.
"I hate you, you know that? You always have to go and complicate things."
"Mm. It's what I do."
"I don't wanna go!"
"Stay with me."
And then, Stevie Wonder Time. All the feels, man.
