Given how many elections in the last few years have been influenced by interference on social media, via (1) direct, individually targeted paid ads by political parties, (2) deliberate influence by the companies that run the platforms, and (3) propaganda bots by third parties who aren't supposed to be participants in the election at all; wouldn't it make more sense to ban over 18s and say the only people allowed on social media are the ones who can't fuck up a country with their credulity?
