Ugh, just my luck! I move away and just a few months later a comic con starts up in my old area, just 5 miles from where I used to live.

(Admittedly it's being held at a primary school, which suggests it might not be a particularly large event…)

Doable for me but I've never had a burning desire to meet a Gladiator...

@Alice Dryden no, nor me… I've never gone to comic cons for the guests though, just to cosplay and meet others doing the same. They have in recent years got quite expensive as a place to just hang out for a few hours though!

I did Excel a few years ago because a colleague's teenage daughter wanted to go and colleague wanted someone to hang out with :) It was a bit anime for me. The only other one I've attended was Coventry, because they were having a bunch of Bond girls. It was really fun, though I think the highlight was getting a photo with the guy who had come dressed as Hong Kong Phooey!

@huskyteer
Well, he’s number one super guy.

@Alice Dryden Oh gosh, I've been to (huge, impersonal) MCM at Excel a few times, but the May one keeps clashing with ConFuzzled. I went to CovCon back in 2018 in my initial burst of comic cons, once I had a wearable Spidey suit. It was quite nice, might have gone back if it was more convenient to get to from London…

Yeah, I went mostly because I could meet a northern friend and hang out with her. It was a lovely day though!
