"XX == Female, XY == Male" is one of those over-simplifications from grade school science that continues be waved around by bigots as though it's the last word in gender identity because they have no idea that what they were taught in grade school is an over-simplification.
AMAB can have XX(1), AMAF can have XY(2). It's rare, but it happens. Then you have people who are intersex at birth, XXY and other variations.
Humans are complicated and there aren't any universal rules.

Yep. Every individual is their own separate bag of physics, chemistry and biology and the only reason there are similarities at all is because natural selection needs offspring to be somewhat like their parents in order to meaningfully naturally-select. And too many people think that evolution tries to produce perfection, when the costs/incentives more often produce something that just barely works. There's no such thing, in the real world, as a species โ that's just an abstraction to make it more convenient to talk about the common characteristics of a load of individuals. Even "male" and "female" are abstractions.
โฆActually, this makes me think of the Man In The Shack. I suspect he might have better insights into this kind of thing.
