I turned on the oven earlier, and the RCBO tripped. I turned it back on, and tried the oven again and… it didn't work! The little top oven worked, but the main oven just sat there, no light, no fan, no heat. I thought it was broken (the very similar oven at the old house broke in a sort-of similar way a while back), and was about to either try to use the little top oven which probably wouldn't work very well for baking bread, or maybe even take the bread round to my sister's house to bake, when I remembered a particular stupidity of these Neff ovens. I set the clock, and the oven started working again. Gah! WHY!? Why does leaving the clock unset make the main oven not work!? Why would you design an oven like that? It — just — makes — no — sense.

Wow, that's... bizarre. Is it digital or something and you can't set the temp without setting the clock first? Or maybe you can't use the timer function? Just kind of reaching for what might have been a reason.
